Spanish

  • 7th grade scholars start with Spanish 1 and it is a high school credit. This is an introductory class to greetings, the classroom, family, hobbies, vacation, and shopping. Phrases and some complete sentences in topics learned in Spanish is the expectation.

  • 8th grade scholars continue with Pre-AP Spanish 2 and it is a high school credit as well. The class pushes for complete sentences in Spanish with some transitional phrases in daily routines, food, parties, health, technology, and the house.

Native Speakers and Dual Language students are encouraged to take Chinese or start with Spanish 2 to promote more growth in the student’s education.

Chinese I and II

  • The Inquire Chines e course prepares the  student who wishes to move up to the Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) language programs in high school.

  • This course introduces scholars to vocabulary, grammatical structures, phonics, and reading in Mandarin Chinese. Emphasis is placed on the oral, auditory, reading, and writing of a second language as well as the skills necessary for second language acquisition.
