November has come and gone quickly. Davila Texan’s have been working hard all month long, with sports, benchmarks and our Essential Eight Trait for the month, Gratitude.
This month the Texan’s finished out their football and volleyball seasons, and we have now entered basketball season. Scholar’s have been working hard in the classroom and on the court, and we can’t wait to see how the rest of the year goes.
Before Thanksgiving break, Davila presented the Fall Family Festival. This festival included turkey bowling, a cake walk and many other activities hosted by our wonderful staff and Texas A&M methods students. Over 50 turkeys were handed out to families in attendance, as well as grocery bags full of food. A special thank you to HEB for supporting our festival, and our Texan families.
Throughout November our scholars have been practicing gratitude in their daily lives. Many scholars were given the opportunity to write letters to teachers they appreciate, and throughout the month our Texan Success classes have had various lessons on gratitude. A gratitude station was also set up at the festival giving everyone the chance to thank someone in their lives with a note.
We are looking forward to introducing our next Essential Eight Trait, PHILANTHROPY as we move into December. Our upcoming event this focused on PHILANTHROPY will be our participation in the KBTX Food for Families Food Drive. The campus, through the Student Council, is collecting can goods and non-perishable items until Tuesday, December 4, 2018.
Thank you to our scholars parents for all that you do!
