Bryan ISD Kickstart Kids students joined students from Navasota in testing for black belts this weekend at Lone Wolf Ranch in Navasota with Kickstart Kids founder Chuck Norris serving as a member of the testing team.
Rosa Medrano, Emily Adams and Aaron Pitts from Jane Long Middle School earned a first-degree black belt. From Davila Middle School, Nick Rudd earned a second-degree black belt and K’lee Rudd earned a first-degree black belt.
Several students from Navasota ISD also earned black belts at the event. According to Kickstart Kids, the black belt test is a display of martial arts excellence that students have been working on for several years.
Benjamin Mendez, Kickstart Kids Brazos Valley Area Leader, said the meaning of “black belt” means becoming a living example of the core values of Kickstart Kids, including honesty, loyalty, courage, discipline, respect, dedication, kindness and responsibility in addition to physical excellence.
Congrats to all these dedicated and talented students!
